February 16, 2021 - Penza, Russia

The Ministry of Forestry in the Penza region proved a timber licensee participated in the illegal logging of forests and recovered 16 million Rubles (about US$ 216,000) in damages. The company was lessee of a forest area within the districts of Sosnovborsky and Kuznetsky. Violations included exceeding the permitted volume of felled timber, violation of the species composition and harvesting outside of the felling area.
