1,800m3 of softwood timber allegedly harvested and sold illegally in Zhytomyr

Authorities in Zhytomyr reportedly broke up a criminal operation in which an estimated 1,800 cubic meters of softwood timber was illegally harvested and sold. The scheme involved officials and the harvest of timber stands in excess of what was permitted. The illegal timber was sold a prices as low as half the market price. 100m3 of wood was also seized.
