1,300m3 of logs including Brazil Nut species seized near Sinop

January 16, 2020 - Mato Grosso, Brazil

In an operation conducted by SEMA, INDEA, and the Brazilian military police called Operation Pinga Fogo, 1,300 cubic meters of logs (about 65 truckloads) were seized. Of this, 470m3 of logs were the Brazil Nut species - the largest seized ever in Mato Grosso. The operation was conducted in the four locations of Nova Mutum, Claudia (where the Brazil Nut logs were seized), Marcelandia, and Porto dos Guachos. Three loggers have been sanctioned.
