Two illegal sawmills destroyed and 121m3 of wood seized in Chapadão

October 31, 2020 - Pará, Brazil

The 1st Independent Environmental Police Company destroyed two sawmills on October 30 in the region of Chapadão, Santarém. At the first illegal sawmill, 48 cubic meters of wood was seized including the Castanheira species (Brazil Nut). Seventy three cubic meters of logs were seized at the second sawmill. Suspects fled both camps.
