October 26, 2020 - West Nile, Uganda

West Nile Web reported the arrest of six for illegal logging of Afzelia africana trees in the village of Onyire. Logging equipment was also seized. According to the report, the village Chairperson claims that local residents were paid about US$ 13 for identifying and locating each tree of the protected species.
