October 26, 2020 - Pará, Brazil

Authorities discovered an area of illegal deforestation equivalent to 250 football fields on a farm in the rural area of Moju in late October. At the time of the discovery, ten men were on site. 175 cubic meters of logs were seized and the logging camp was destroyed. The suspect accused of coordinating the illegal activity was arrested and paid about US$ 2,943 in bail.
