Sawmill manager to be prosecuted for illegal storage of 842m3 of logs in Santo Antônio do Matupi

The managing partner of a sawmill in Santo Antônio do Matupi and two others will be prosecuted by the Federal Public Ministry on charges for the illegal storage of logs and fraud of the DOF system. The sawmill allegedly had 842 cubic meters of logs in their yard, including the species Cambará, Cedrinho, Guariúba that were not declared in the DOF system. Documentation provided by the lumber company lead investigators to allege that it was fraudulently using credits from forest management plans where the timber did not physically originate. The allege crime occurred between June and November of 2016.
