October 19, 2020 - Maranhão, Brazil

Between October 14 and 16, a joint operation under the umbrella of Operação Verde Brasil 2 was conducted in the municipality of Zé Doca near the Awá and Alto Turiaçu Indigenous Lands. Three sawmills were closed, two trucks were seized, 600 cubic meters of logs were destroyed, along with 72m3 of lumber. The suspects identified are allegedly repeat offenders.
