October 7, 2020 - Pará, Brazil

Folha do Progresso reports that a joint operation involving ICMBio, the military, and IBAMA resulted in the closure of four sawmills along highway BR-163 in the Cachoeira da Serra district on October 6. Four of the six sawmills in the area were closed because they allegedly did not have valid Operating Licenses. One allegedly had illegal wood stored in their yard. Lumber and logs were also seized.
