September 25, 2020 - Pará, Brazil

The Federal Police, Brazilian Army, IBAMA and SEMAS dismantled eight sawmills in the municipality of Nova Esperança do Piriá in Operation Embauba that started on September 24. Lumber companies in the region are suspected to be responsible for the illegal logging of timber from the Indigenous Land of the Upper Rio Guamá.
