September 2, 2020 - Bahia, Brazil

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized 58.05 cubic meters of lumber (about 24,600 board feet) at kilometer 408 of highway BR-242 on September 1. The volume transported was higher than that declared in the documents presented, which made the DOF invalid. The invoice (DANFE) was also expired. The driver was found to have transported illegal wood in February of 2020 in Rondônia. The shipping company, the driver, and the receiving company face charges of selling and transporting illegal wood. The PRF BA did not disclose the presumed species, place of dispatch or destination.
