August 30, 2020 - Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil

The Environmental Military Police of Cassilândia seized 31 cubic meters of illegal lumber at kilometer 1 on highway MS-306 on August 29. The truck transported 31m³ of wood but the environmental documentation (DOF - Document of Forest Origin) and the invoice declared only 26m³. The cargo allegedly originated from a lumber company in Espigão do Oeste, Rondonia and was destined for Bady Bassitt. The PM did not disclose the presumed species. The offending company was fined about US$ 1780.
