August 31, 2020 - Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil

Military Environmental Police seized 45 cubic meters of illegal lumber at km 1 on highway MS-306 in Cassilândia on August 29. The truck transported 45m³ of wood but the Document of Forest Origin (DOF) and the invoice only declared 38m³. In addition, the itinerary contained in the environmental documentation did not pass through Mato Grosso do Sul, which is illegal. The truck belonged to a company in Juína (MT) where the shipment allegedly originated and was destined for Tietê. The PM did not disclose the presumed species.
