August 26, 2020 - Mato Grosso, Brazil

Mato Grosso Military Police seized a truckload of logs and arrested the driver on August 25 in Santa Cruz do Xingu. The driver was arrested for transporting forest products without an environmental license. The suspect was hired by a logger in the neighboring town of São José do Xingu. A local official is the alleged owner of the illegal logs. The MP did not disclose the presumed species or volume.
