August 12, 2020 - Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil

22.3 cubic meters of Garapeira lumber were seized on highway MS-306 in Costa Rica on August 12. It was one of three seizures made in as many days on the same stretch of road. The DOF did not contain the travel itinerary making it invalid. The travel itinerary serves to prevent illegal timber from being removed from other places with the same document. The cargo allegedly originated in Nova Monte Verde, Mato Grosso and was destined for Araras, Sao Paolo.
