August 3, 2020 - Madre de Dios, Peru

The Regional Forestry and Wildlife Management in Madre de Dios (GERFOR-MDD) intercepted a truck carrying approximately 28 cubic meters of rough sawn lumber on August 3 at the forestry control post in Mazuko. According to GERFOR-MDD, the sawmill that dispatched the truck was unlicensed and unable to emit a forest transport guide which is required for the transport of lumber.
