Sawmill owner arrested on charges of alleged timber theft of US$ 752,394 in Lincoln Parish

The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) arrested the owner of sawmill in Simsboro on July 29. The arrest for the alleged theft of timber valued at US$ 752,394 came after a 6-month long investigation. In February, agents received complaints from multiple loggers who delivered timber to the sawmill. The loggers told agents they had not received payment for the delivered timber.
