July 15, 2020 - Pará, Brazil

The Civil Police of Pará and the Municipal Secretariat of Environment (SEMMA) seized about one thousand cubic meters of wood that were being transported illegally by a river barge in the waters of the Pará River near the village of Ponta Negra in Muaná. The documentation of the timber transported had been expired since January this year. The document also reported a smaller amount than what was on the vessel. According to the driver, the cargo originated in Parintins and was destined for São Miguel do Guamá.
